Shannon Acor

NAGPRA Project Specialist

Shannon Acor serves as the NAGPRA (Native American Grave Protection and Repatriation Act) Project Specialist at BYU’s Museum of Peoples and Cultures, where she supports the Museum’s work in consultation, cultural stewardship, and repatriation. She brings more than 20 years of experience in public service, museum administration, and community engagement, including her previous role as Associate Director and Head of Operations at the Springville Museum of Art. Raised in Page, Arizona, Shannon’s early experiences living and working alongside Native communities fostered a lasting respect for the cultural and ancestral connections between people, objects, and place. She values thoughtful collaboration and is committed to approaching NAGPRA work with accuracy, respect, and integrity.
